Making the next class in IDPA
This course is designed specifically to help Novice to Expert level shooters "match bump" to their next higher class in IDPA. It coaches the shooting, movement, and match management skills to succeed at your next sanctioned match to earn a match bump. This is a drill/mini stage based course, where each shooter runs a course of fire to establish their own baseline to improve upon. Therefore, all classes of shooters can take this course together from Novice to Expert.
Note: While some of the skills in this course will help with the IDPA Classifier, this is not a "classifier improvement" class.
8-9 hours, 400 rounds minimum, $150 per person. Minimum 2 shooters per class, maximum of 4. All IDPA match gear required plus water and lunch/snacks.

Firearms Safety Rules
Great article on safety as a concept here 1. Keep your finger up high along the frame above the trigger until ready to shoot Develop the habit of placing your finger alongside the frame of the firearm, in the same spot each time 2. Always point the firearm in a safe direction A generally safe direction is where someone is unlikely to get hurt in the event the firearm goes off 3. Remember that you are in control of a firearm that can injure or kill if used maliciously or negligently Actively maintaining awareness of rules 1 and 2 while fighting complacency in gun handling creates a mindset of safety for any gun handling time or place. Credit to these rules: Rob Pincus of I.C.E. training |
It's wise to have some form of self-defense insurance/prepaid legal services. I don't make anything off of my endorsement, but I recommend visiting my friend and fellow competition shooter http://www.tacticalpoppins.com/ to sign up for USCCA. It's a quality, cost-effective program that has many fringe benefits.
